I’d like to say how much I enjoyed my recent purchase of the ‘Under The Bridge’ DVD. A great gig, nicely recorded. Wonderful performances by all of you. Many thanks!
Thank you so much for your wonderful music. Keep doing what you are doing because its is full of talent. Just wanted to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and Prosperous and Healthy New year.
Saw your Kinross show on Friday…and what a show…so good I’ll see you all again in Edinburgh @ Bannermans tonight…wonderful wonderful music .feel as if i’ve waited all my life to hear this!! ..Thank you all
I was at junior high school with Martin and I’m curious to the origins of the nickname ‘Frosty’. Can you please enlighten me as he certainly didn’t have it whilst at school – as far as I can recall!! PS. Happy Birthday for Tuesday you old fart!
Hi, when trying to book tickets via the FB page, the South Shields one shows as Oct 8th instead of Nov 8th, and at a different venue Can you clarify please, ta
Re. the comment by Jez Holme – I, too, was blown away by the last song played at the Trading Boundaries gig – it was absolutely magnificent. Any chance of a bit of information about it? And in my previous comment on the 6th, I meant to say “..four exceptionally talented musicians”, but of course, you knew that already! (senior moment).
Hi David thanks for the message. The song in question is Last One Home. The song is about a fisherman out at sea in a violent storm whilst all the other boats have made it safely back he has to fight his way through a life threatening storm whilst relatives wait on the quay side. He makes it back (as the Last One Home). I originally wrote this for my first solo CD Life Underground. John Wetton and Carl Palmer took a liking to it and we used it on the Qango live CD with Dave Kilminster playing guitar. We used to also play it with the John Young Band. The boys (Lifesigns) especially Steve thought it would work well as an encore and it seems that is the case I’m pleased to say. It’s like meeting an old friend again. π
Wonderful concert at Trading Boundaries on the 5th. Uplifting music played by four exceptionally musicians. Prog at its very best – enjoyed every minute and left wanting more. Many thanks for the concert. Keep it up, chaps.
Wow, what a great gig last night! Dave B is epic and the band is so good now. Never heard the final song before but that guitar lead was out of this world and so many people in the crowd were really moved by the power and intensity. Missed Lighthouse as a favourite but can’t play all night.
Just can’t wait for a new album of new songs with Dave in the band; should be great musical sparks between John and Dave.
Time to update or revamp the website by the way?
Thanks for a treat gig.
Just got the live album: superb. Thanks for your great music.
Carlxx.
PS: Hi John: you kindly signed my ‘Significance’ CD at Rock Coty, Nottingham when you toured supporting the album. You were great that night and continue to be.
Been watching the YouTube posts on your shows at CTTE and I have to say you have gone up several notches in your live performances from what I could tell. I was a big fan of Niko on the guitar whenever I saw you live but Dave is simply magnificent and the band chemistry now looked spot on. Can’t wait to see you again (trading boundaries is only a one and a half hour drive away so looks the nearest!). I’d love to hear what the band including Dave could come up with and I hope you’re back in the studio for new album(s) very soon. Keep it up!
Jez
Well Cruise to the Edge has brought a new band into our life. We missed seeing Lifesigns on a previous CTTE. You all were gracious to sign my door art at the Miami airport. But we made sure we got up front seats to the pool show this time (CTTE 2018). You had my wife and I as Lifesigns fans from that point on. We have made a major new band discovery with each CTTE. I don’t know how we would have been exposed to your work without it. Bought the new CD on the ship and has been in the car CD player since. The real sound test will be out cruising on our Indian motorcycle premium stereo in the spring. Thanks for being part of our fantastic CTTE experience.
Thanks Tim… So glad you liked the show. It’s interesting for us as one of the newer bands on the cruise even now 3 cruises in we see a lot of folk who have no idea who we are as they just go and see the top acts every year. So we appreciate that you took the time out to discover π Lots of great new acts on the ship every year. It’s the only way we can get to an American audience as there is no way through agents or radio, they just won’t tour or play anything new. The costs and paperwork are prohibitive for touring and radio is a closed shop with the record companies so we really appreciate that Larry and the gang give us this opportunity to make a very small dent in the U.S.A. (albeit offshore π ). Hope we pass the real sound test and feel free to join us on facebook if you partake. Hope to see you next year… kindest wishes John
Got introduced to you the show Music In Widescreen on Progrock.com, and have thoroughly enjoyed your self titled album. Have just picked up Cardington, and am loving what I hear!
Hi John and all the band, got the cd from you a few weeks ago and can’t stop playing it, it’s brilliant. Just ordered the vinyl version for my friend for Christmas. There are five of us coming to see you in January in Manchester, can’t wait to hear all these great songs live. Many congratulations and keep up the good work. Regards
Paul Clement
Thank you for sending the Cardington vinyl out to me so promptly. It’s a lovely textured, great sounding, very well played and produced record indeed . Raises the bar even higher than the one set by the debut. Love the band, love your work. Congratulations to you all & keep up the momentum ‘cos it’s all good from here. Kindest regards and continued good fortune to all. Jim… http://www.jbbass.co.uk
Hi Johnnie, my copyΒ΄s landed too – great work, each song unique in harmonies and sound…if it was a Vinyl copy iΒ΄d had worn out it already..a Musical Treasury …expectedly but nevertheless peppered with numberless surprises and soundscapes to discover…i really felt in love with that release..and some Tron flute-chords iced the cake… π Hope to see you again in Germany.. all the best, my dear, to you all! Kind regards and hugs from Rolf.
Can I just say how pleased I am having discovered you guys’ music, thanks mainly to Dave Bainbridge who put me on to Lifesigns a few months ago!
I now have both of Lifesigns’ CDs and I’ve just ordered Live Under the Bridge! Next on my list is The John Young Band album, recommended by a contributor to a recent Facebook post.
Some bands take some getting in to, some you simply can’t get in to, and then Lifesigns comes along and I just fell in straight away. Excellent stuff!
I will say that my first play of Lifesigns debut didn’t immediately grab my attention, but after the second run it just got better and better.
My car doesn’t have a CD player in it so I have to put everything I buy into iTunes and then transfer the AAC/MP3 files into my iPhone/Pad. Not only that, I have to put them onto a memory stick and plug that into the car too.
I’m never short of music choices while I’m driving, that’s for sure!
Dear John, has anyone told you lately that you have one of the most distinct voices in the rockpopscene ? And the ‘passage’ (probably not correct English)on 6:57 till 7:04 on track N is the most beautiful one I’v heard in years.
I’d like to say how much I enjoyed my recent purchase of the ‘Under The Bridge’ DVD. A great gig, nicely recorded. Wonderful performances by all of you. Many thanks!
To John and the band,

Hi Chris … I think it was something to do with eating lots of Frosties whilst he was the in-house drummer on the QE2
or is that in-ship? best
